Newly Hired for Gwinnett Cars.com Account Executive

Welcome to GwinnettCars.com, Matt Hill. Matt is a Lawrenceville resident and a 2007graduate of Grayson High School. Matt was an outstanding athlete at the school playing 4 years on the school's baseball team. Matt was a First Team All-Gwinnett County pitcher his Senior year and earrned an athletic scholarship to the highly competetive Chattahoochee Valley Community College in Phenix City, Alabama (Alma Mater of Atlanta Brave Tim Hudson). Matt had an outstanding year in 2008 as the lone freshman serving as a Conference Starter. He earned the teams Newcomer of the Year Award. Fighting some shoulder soreness in 2009, Matt was unable to attend pre-draft workouts for major league teams as he had surgery in May . Fast forward to 2010 and Matt was picked in the 33rd round of the Major League Draft by the Texas Rangers. He played on the teams Rookie level Surprise Rangers and pitchd the final out in the Division Championship Game. More shoulder problems got in the way in 2011 at Spring Training and Matt recently had surgery to repair a torn labrum in his throwing shoulder. He is currently pain free as he attempts his comeback later this winter.

  1. Pictured are Johnny Gunter and Matt Hill of the Texas Rangers. Both pitchers also played together at Chattahoochee Valley CC in 2008.
